Club Events

Oakwood Country Club has a large variety of Family, Social, and Golf events each year. Typical events are listed below, although not all events may occur each year. Additional events may be added during the year. Check the Club Newsletter and/or the Calendar of Events on the web site for specific dates and times.

FAMILY EVENTS

  • Thursday Family Nights – Join us at the Club for Build your Own Pasta Night!!  Dessert included!  Each Family Night is specially themed to keep things interesting for the kids (and you!)  From Video Game Nights, Arts & Crafts, Scavenger Hunts, Family Movies, Holiday Themes (and we’re just getting started)…Thursdays are Fundays at Oakwood!
  • Children’s Easter Brunch – Egg decorating, crafts, Grand Egg Hunt, family-oriented buffet, visit from the Easter Bunny
  • Family Pool Party & Carnival – Dunk Tank, carnival games, pool games, Karaoke, and more!
  • Movie Night at the Pool – Outdoor jumbo screen with movies beginning at 7:00 PM
  • Parent-Child Golf Tournament – Held with tee-times in the morning and an alternate shot format for the pairings. All ages welcome with a putting game at the end!
  • End of Summer Pool Party – A fun day at the pool to celebrate the end of a Great Summer at Oakwood!
  • Brunch with Santa – Stocking decorating, ornament making, gingerbread house construction, visit from the Jolly Old Man, family-oriented brunch.

SOCIAL EVENTS

  • Sweethearts’ Evening – Hors d’oeuvres, music, special Sweethearts menu to celebrate with your Valentine
  • New Members Party – Aloha to the new members of Oakwood
  • Friday Night Golf – Several Friday nights during the golf season; a couples fun-formatted preferred ball 9-hole event with a casual dinner following; dinner is held rain or shine
  • Nine & Dine Social Golf with Grill Night – Join your friends with tee times beginning at 4:30. Social members can play for the cost of a cart with Grill Night reservations.
  • Summer Celebration & Buffet – Live outdoor entertainment!
  • Divorce Open – The Premier Couples Golf Event of the Quad-Cities – couples play an alternate shot format. Dinner following play.
  • Las Vegas Entertainment Night – Fall beer tasting & live entertainment and more!
  • Ladies Fall Style Show Luncheon – Fashions from several clothing stores are modeled during lunch
  • The Oakwood Holiday Wine Tasting – Just in time for holiday entertaining – taste over 50 wines from around the world
  • The Night Before Thanksgiving – Join your friends in giving thanks for the past year during an evening social
  • Christmas Gala – A great display from the Oakwood Culinary Team with live entertainment & dancing following dinner
  • New Year’s Eve – Special dinner options

GOLF EVENTS

  • Men’s Day Smokers – A fun day, open to all male golfing members. Sign up for tee times. Dinner follows. Guests are welcome. If you don’t play golf, plan to attend the dinner. One in the spring and one in the fall!
  • President’s Cup – A 36-hole medal play scratch event, open to all male golfing members. Must have an established handicap.
  • Oakwood Cup – a 36-hole medal play handicap event, open to all male golfing members. Must have an established handicap.
  • Ladies’ Spring Handicap – a 36-hole medal play handicap event, open to all female golfing members. Must have an established handicap.
  • Member-Guest Tournament – This is a chance for you to repay business or personal obligations to golfing friends from outside Oakwood. Men have a two-day event. Ladies have a separate one-day event.
  • Club Championship – This is a match-play event to determine an over-all champion as well as flight winners. There are separate flights for men and women. The championship flight is a scratch event. The remaining flights are based on handicap and both are open to all golfing members and their children. To participate in flight competition, you must have an established handicap with a minimum of 5 rounds posted for the current year.
  • 2-Person Best Ball – Golfers choose their own partners and play an 18-hole best ball tournament. Open to both men and women. Must have an established handicap.
  • Senior Playday – This 18-hole tournament is for men and women 50 and over. There are age brackets for senior, super senior, and super-super senior! Prizes are awarded for individual and team play. The Pro Shop forms the teams based on handicap. Must have an established handicap.
  • Divorce Open – The Premier Couples Golf Event of the Quad-Cities – couples play an alternate shot format. Dinner following play.
  • Parent-Child Golf Tournament – Held with tee-times in the morning and an alternate shot format for the pairings. All ages welcome with a putting game at the end!
  • Mixed Trifecta – couples event with three 6-hole formats for a total of 18 holes.
